Usually when you think of a Lambo, you think of a low to the ground, sexy looking sports car. Chances are, an off-road vehicle is the last thing on your mind. Well, get ready to change the way you think about Lamborghini. Kind of. You won’t find this line of cars gracing the off-road terrains around you today, but this historical 1988 LM002 has all the makings of a true off-road vehicle. Complete with luxury.
The Lamborghini LM002 began as a part of a project for developing a new off-road vehicle for military use. However, when the project was handed to another company, Mobility Technology International, Lamborghini decided to keep developing the car. We sure are glad they did.
This car, it’s uniquely comic-like appearance aside, is one of a kind. At its debut at the 1986 Brussels Motor Show, this car put out 444 hp at 6,800 rpm from its 5.1-liter V-12 engine. Quite a show of power for an off-road vehicle of that time. This car sits just over six feet tall and extends over fifteen feet long. It also weighs over three tons. Wait, are we sure they didn’t make a tank? Powerful exterior aside, this car screams luxury on the inside. We think it’s what’s on the inside and the outside that counts. It features full leather seating, tinted power windows, wood accents, AC, and a high-end sound system. This car is a deadly blend of powerful exterior, off-road skills, and a premium luxury interior.
