Auction Block: This 2006 Ford GT Will Knock Your Socks Off

Raise your hand if you think it isn’t possible that 2006 was 13 years ago. We certainly don’t believe it. This Ford GT definitely doesn’t look like a car that’s over a decade old either. So, perhaps we’re dealing with a time warp situation? Regardless, this badass ride is a work of art that stands the test of time.

For speed freaks all over, the GT is a line to salivate over. Now, add in the fact that this car is maxed out with almost every possible feature and is a limited edition and you’ve got a full-on craving to sit behind the wheel. Oh, and did we mention that it has only 600 miles on it? We aren’t sure how the owners resisted the urge to drive it more in its 13-year life. Unless this is proof that we really are in a time warp. Ford GT or time machine?

Lightweight Speedster

In its hay-day, the Ford GT was a formidable sports car. Today, it is somewhat overshadowed by other models from other manufacturers, but it still deserves respect. Considering that this car was at the top of its class in 2006, we certainly agree.

It boasts a 5.4-liter V-8 engine that is paired to a six-speed manual transmission for ultimate control. With a superplastic formed frame mated to a sleek aluminum exterior and carbon fiber interior panels, the GT is also a lightweight speedster. Just by looking at it, you can tell this is a fast, fast car. Once you press the gas, you’ll quickly learn that looks do not lie in this case.

For real. This car, to put it in 2006 terms, zooms. It races to over 60 mph in just three seconds. Keep going and you’ll top out at a heart-pounding 205 mph. Imagine how easy it would be to double this car’s insanely low mileage going 205. Don’t lie, you know you want to try it.

Tricked Out Ride

The original owner of this car wanted to ensure that it was outfitted with every available add-on. This is confirmed by the original window sticker and includes: McIntosh Radio, BBS alloy wheels, Le Mans stripes, and grey-painted brake calipers. It also features an air compressor and original tow hook.

For fans of things that are limited edition, this car will satisfy. The stealthy black color worn by the GT is known by Ford as Mark II Black. No, this isn’t an Iron Man suit. Regardless, the color makes it one of just 292 GT’s form the 2006 run produced in the color.

Since the car has stayed in sunny California for its lifetime, the paint is still in ideal condition. It doesn’t hurt that the GT hasn’t seen less than a thousand miles of road. Seriously, we can’t get over this.

If you’re a fan of fast cars, time travel conspiracy theories, and limited-edition things, you’ll love this 2006 Ford GT. Now, all you need to do is come up with a plan for how to get yourself behind the wheel of this awesome ride. Learn More
