Turn Heads With the 2019 Cadillac Escalade

New year, new you! Looking to tackle more outdoor adventures, road trips, or just take to the streets in style? Make it your New Year’s resolution to upgrade your ride to a luxurious, but practical, adventure machine: the 2019 Cadillac Escalade. The Cadillac Escalade is a full-size luxury SUV and is the most expensive Cadillac vehicle in the lineup. There have been four generations of Escalades since it was introduced in 1999. The current, fourth generation was introduced in 2015 and the new 2019 model is likely to be the last of that generation. A new, fifth-generation model is expected to debut in 2020, but in the meantime, Cadillac’s flagship SUV is treated to minor changes and updates for 2019.

Iconic design with minor updates

The 2019 model is available in two sizes: the regular-length SUV and extended-length ESV. Like the current model, the 2019 Escalade features full LED light blade tail lamps, which emit thin blades of light, giving the vehicle a stunning signature look at night. Concierge Lighting is also a godsend, with LEDs in the door handles, power assist steps, and interior. You’ll have clear illumination when entering and exiting your Escalade.

Power Assist Steps are another amazing feature that give the Escalade that luxury feel. The steps lower to greet you when you open any door, perfect to give you a lift up. Hands full of groceries or camp gear? The Escalade has Hands-Free Liftgate, which opens and closes your trunk with a simple kicking gesture. The rear wiper is concealed and protected from the elements, giving your rear window a clean design. Make a statement with the addition of 22-inch polished alloy wheels, which are cast-formed to minimize weight but gain strength.

The 2019 Escalade has a few color changes, replacing Midnight Sky Metallic and Dark Granite Metallic with Manhattan Noir Metallic and Shadow Metallic.

Powerful technology and safety features

The Escalade is available in two sizes: the regular-sized SUV and the elongated ESV. The SUV has up to 94.2 cubic feet of cargo space vs. the ESV’s up to 120.9. Both Escalades run on a 6.2L V8 engine with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The cars can seat up to eight passengers. Other features include 12-way power-adjustable front seats, 4-way power lumbar front seats, and TriZone climate control. The Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound System uses 16 speakers to fully immerse you into your favorite jams. Automatic Parking Assist takes the guesswork out of parking. It’ll detect whether a spot is parallel or perpendicular and automatically steer your vehicle while you select the appropriate gear.

The Magnetic Ride Control gives you balance and control. The system reads the road up to 1,000 times per second and automatically adjusting the suspension to road conditions. You can also effortlessly shift between 2WD, 4WD HI, 4WD LOW, and AUTO. StabiliTrak gives you enhanced control, applying braking pressure to any one of the wheel brakes so you stay on your path. Head-Up Display, available in the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum trims, projects selected vehicle information onto your windshield, so you can always have your eyes on the road. The available Safety Alert Seat is another innovative and subtle safety feature. A small pulse to the left, right, or both sides of the driver’s seat indicates the direction of potential danger.

Four trim options

Upgrading from Standard to the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum trims give you many additions well worth the extra cash. Additional features in the Platinum include 18-way adjustable seats with massage, leather-wrapped instrument panel, console, and upper door trim, and even a console cooler. There’s a Rear Seat Entertainment System with Blu-ray playback, wireless headphones, and HDMI/USB ports. Wi-Fi Hotspot is also available and a 9” diagonal screen. Other features in the upgraded trims include a power sunroof, rear camera mirror, Driver Awareness Package, IntelliBeam headlamps, and illuminating door handles. A new Sport Package is also available for the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum trims. Learn More
