Mark your calendars for 2021: Electric vehicles are getting a major upgrade. Aston Martin’s Lagonda Vision Concept was revealed in March and the electric sedan just oozes luxury, innovation, and smarts. Aston Martin is taking a bold, new step toward emission-free luxury cars with the revival of Lagonda as a full-fledged luxury EV brand. Development for the new Lagonda began in 2015 and the decision to make every Lagonda an EV came about a year later. The first Lagonda sedan is expected to go on sale in 2021.
This concept car is silent and luxurious. Lush carpets decorate the interior and the seat backs made of handwoven wool give you ultimate comfort. Aston Martin recruited Savile Row tailors for meticulous handwork in this beaut. Legroom is everything and the Lagonda has plenty of it. The roof also partially opens and the car doors are huge! The Lagonda itself is huge, looking very much like a small and sleek SUV. It has large, sweeping curves that span the whole length of the car. It’s supremely light for an EV, but structurally stiff and space efficient.
The state of the art car has powerful solid state electric batteries that will cover up to 400 real world miles between charges. You can drive from LA to San Francisco without stopping, or London to Edinburgh. The car is also compatible with the latest wireless conductive charging tech. The Lagonda is toted to have Level 4 autonomy, so it’ll drive itself under most conditions. If you prefer a human to drive, the steering wheel moves from left to right hand drive according to your needs. In autonomous mode, the steering wheel can retract entirely and front seat passengers can rotate 180 degrees to face the back. 2021 can’t come soon enough! Learn more here.
