Auction Block: The 1955 Porsche 356 A Carrera GS is Timeless

For those days you need to treat yourself and level up your ride for club events, vintage rallies, or just to show off to your crew, you want something that offers class, style, and function. Enter the stunning 1955 Porsche 356 A Carrera Grand Sport Coupe. The beautifully restored coupe uses the celebrated Type 547/1 four-cam engine designed by Dr. Ernst Fuhrmann. In 1.5-liter form, the engine packs 100 horsepower at 6,200 rpm with a pair of Solex downdraft carburettors. The four-cam engines are complex, but very strong and reliable.

Luxurious and limited, only 390 Reutter Carrera 356 A GS coupes from 1955 exist. The sports car was delivered January 17, 1956 to Hoffman Motors in New York City to a very lucky owner. It was factory-equipped with a Telefunken radio and antenna, a speedometer, and U.S.-specification sealed-beam headlights. The coupe has a rich interior, including an alloy-framed, wood-rimmed steering wheel. During its restoration in Italy, this beaut’s rare and impressive original color of 5605A Lago Green Metallic was renewed. One of the Porsche’s highlights is the extremely rare manually operated Golde sunroof, so you can enjoy the outdoors indoors, and in style. Learn More
