‘BuyMeOnce’ Is Challenging Manufacturers To Build Products That Last Forever

BuyMeOnce

Wouldn’t this world be a better place if we only had to buy products once instead of having to replace them regularly? This is the world that BuyMeOnce is trying to create. It’s a new website, not too dissimilar from The Daily Want, that only features products which last a lifetime. Shirts, shoes, toys, and tools. They feature products which are built to last a lifetime.

This is a mission I can get on board with, one that challenges manufacturers to be better. There are few things more frustrating than purchasing a great product only to have it fall apart. Take a moment to think back on the cumulative number of ‘favorite shirts’ you’ve owned throughout your lifetime. With BuyMeOnce, the idea is that you’ll only find products featured which are built to last forever.

Here’s a glance at the BuyMeOnce current and future mission statement:

RIGHT NOW:
Make buying things that are built to last easy.
Help you take care of the things you have with our tips and articles.
Encourage people to buy just a few great things they love rather than huge amounts of clutter.

LONG TERM:
Challenge manufacturers to build products that last longer than the current products on the market.
Change our throwaway culture to a “keep” or “pass on” culture.
