EYOS Expedition: Who Said Science Can’t Be Fun?

They say that we know more about space than we do about our oceans. Well, EYOS Expedition is trying to change that. After their very successful year last year, they are ready to take three fearless explorers where no man, or woman, has gone before.

EYOS Expedition wants to take you to the bottom of the ocean. Well, not exactly. More like the bottom of the Mariana Trench, which is 10,928 meters deep. That’s way down there. It’s basically uncharted waters for manned exploration. There have only been three manned explorations to the bottom of the Challenger Deep.

One Of 15

More people have climbed Mount Everest than have dove to the bottom of Challenger Deep. After the EYOS Expedition there will have been 15 people who have dared to go this deep. It takes 4 hours to descend to the destination and then the crew has four hours to explore and potentially film their findings.

If you are a nature documentary buff, then you know the most interesting sea creatures live in these extreme depths. It would be a once in a lifetime opportunity. It then takes an additional four hours to come back to the surface. Of course, it will take far longer to process everything that you witness in the ocean’s depths.

Part Of The Team

No need to feel intimidated by the mission specialists. They want you to know that they are people just like you. There will be plenty of crew members with different backgrounds on the EYOS Expedition.

Everyone has a new and different perspective on things that can help solve the inevitable hiccups. When the team isn’t solving problems or diving into the depths of the ocean, they enjoy their leisure time just like anyone else, drinking, pumping iron, and watching movies. No formal training is required but the team will make sure you are totally secure with the inner workings of the process. Learn More
