With the exception of the Apple Watch, smartwatches have been another over-hyped trend that really never caught on (kind of like the segway). But for some reason, brands keep releasing them. And maybe, just maybe, the Fitbit Ionic is going to be the smartwatch that can finally take on the Apple Watch.
The Fitbit Ionic has a color LCD touchscreen, Bluetooth 4.0 Low-Energy, Wi-Fi connectivity (802.11 b/g/n), a heart rate sensor, and an ambient light sensor. The battery is rumored to last four full days on one charge, provided that you are not using the GPS function.
So what makes this more than just another watch that helps you track your workouts? Well, aside from being able to create personalized workouts based on your activity and display a map of your current workout data, the Iconic can store and play music (through bluetooth devices) and it can track your sleep. The Ionic also has something called ‘Fitbit Pay,’ which means you can use NFC payments with your watch. Buy Here
