Lil Wayne Sells Miami Mansion With Skatepark And Shark Lagoon For $10 Million

Lil Wayne Sells Miami Beach Mansion 10 Million

Rapper Lil Wayne has sold his 15,000 square foot Miami Beach mansion for $10 million. He purchased the La Gorce Island mansion only six years ago for $11.6 million. His real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, and he initially put the house on the market for $18 million in April 2015. This means Lil Wayne dropped the price by an astounding $8 million in just 27 months.

It’s astonishing that Lil Wayne’s mansion fell in price so much for several reasons. Most notably, new Miami Beach building codes prohibit new homes this large from being built. In order to secure a house this size in Miami Beach, it must be grandfathered in from the old code. This has astronomically driven up the price of houses this size in recent years.

In addition to the gargantuan size of this Miami Beach mansion, the amenities are mind blowing. Lil Wayne’s Miami Beach mansion has a skatepark on the roof. There is an on-site lagoon full of live sharks. The 30-foot ceilings make the place look and feel like a true palace. A two-story master suite is accessible by a glass elevator. There is also a 3-bedroom guest house situated on the property. In total, there are 9 bedrooms and 9 full bathrooms (2 half baths).

Rapper Lil Wayne chose to sell his mansion because he spends more time in Los Angeles these days than Miami. There isn’t much sense in sitting on a mansion worth $10-$18 million when you’re never there.

La Gorce Island on Miami Beach is home to some of the most expensive real estate in the world. Houses on the island regularly sell for over $10 million. It’s a bit puzzling that Lil Wayne would take an offer so far below his asking price.

It is unclear who purchased Lil Wayne’s Miami Beach mansion at this time. More photographs and property details are available on the Realtor.com listing. All images in this article can be found on the Realtor.com listing.
