The Nike DBreak SP Is the Bright Summer Sneaker You Need

Summer’s all about bright bold colors, especially in our fashion. When you’ve got your fit sorted out, the finishing touch is the shoes. They say shoes make the outfit and it’s true.

Your footwear choice can really make or break the whole look. When you’re on the go hopping from activity to activity, you need a comfortable shoe that’s stylish and reliable. There’s nothing like a classic Nike by your side to seize the day.

Nike’s Daybreak has been a staple running sneaker since 1979. It’s a low-profile, low-top sneaker that’s simple, yet packed with attitude. The upper has always been made with suede and nylon to keep things lightweight. It also featured a thick, flared EVA midsole and cup insole for comfort and a padded collar for extra cushion.

In fact, the Daybreak got Joan Benoit Samuelson over the finish line at the first-ever women’s marathon, winning her the gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Benoit’s Daybreak was custom made for her and featured a nylon upper, an outsole with specific flex grooves, and a plastic heel clip. So to say the least, the Daybreak’s got history and a good rep.

A blend of old and new

The Daybreak’s retro look is more than welcome as we love a good throwback. But we’ve come a long way since the ‘80s, so there’s room for change.

The heritage Nike Sportswear shape is combined with modern Nike Running materials in the new Nike DBreak SP. The new Teal Tint/Jade Aura/Sail/Midnight Navy colorway is a bright addition to your closet.

The shoe has see-through quarters, collar, and toe box in a teal tint hue for a modern-day look. The mudguard, heel overlay, and eyestays are in the Daybreak’s traditional suede, in light tan. The midfoot Swooshes and suede heel tab are in a rich navy with a light blue Nike logo spelled out.

TPE tongues are in an eggshell tone and feature an old-school Nike Sportswear badge. The shoe has a trim white EVA foam midsole for lightweight super plush cushioning. To complete the look, the DBreak features a black waffle rubber outsole, inspired by the ‘79 original, for traction and durability.

The Nike DBreak SP will also be available in a more neutral Topaz Gold/Lemon Wash/Summit White/Cedar that goes with pretty much everything. It’s also the perfect introduction to fall with its neutral brown shades. Whatever color you choose, the Daybreak will surely be a lifestyle favorite. Buy Here
