That’s a bold-faced lie, kids. We all know that a sub two-hour marathon is not in the cards for us. That is, unless you are the most elite runner in the world. In that case, grab a pair of these NikeLab Zoom Fly SP running shoes and go make history. The rest of us will buy then to wear with our athleisure apparel that only ever gets used with the “leisure” part of that word.
Seriously though, the NikeLab Zoom Fly SP were part of the early prototype phase of Nike’s Breaking2 footwear which was designed to break the two-hour marathon barrier. Since the shoe is a celebration of the Breaking2 project, the Zoom Fly SP Nike will features added design elements that indicate how the shoe developed.
From Nike: “The digital clock graphic on the heel references the brave attempt to break the two-hour marathon barrier and also nods to the original Nike Zoom Mayfly.”
From Nike: “The inner left side of the tongue has text referring to the prototype design’s specifications. The inner right side of the tongue has space for the wearer to fill in the Trial No., Location and Time of their own fastest running attempts.”
The NikeLab Zoom Fly SP is available on June 8 on at NikeLab and at select retailers.
