For my entire life, the Omega Speedmaster has been synonymous with ‘perfection’. After all, the Speedmaster is the watch worn by the very first astronauts who landed on the moon. The Speedmaster is a design many watchmakers try to replicate but there’s no catching lightning in a bottle twice. That’s why I’m so hyped on the Speedy Tuesday limited edition Omega Speedmaster.
This time around Omega has somehow managed to take their flagship watch and make it even better. It’s a feat most didn’t believe was possible but they’ve surpassed everyone’s highest expectations with the Speedy Tuesday Omega Speedmaster. Before we take a look at the inner movements and construction fo the Speedy Tuesday let us take a look at this gorgeous watch:
The Speedy Tuesday Speedmaster is constructed with a high-grade rhodium-plated finish. This represents a significant step forward for the entire Speedmaster line of men’s watches, not just the limited edition Speedy Tuesday. The watch itself is driven by the ‘hand-wound calibre 1861′, almost an identical movement to the watches worn by our nation’s first astronauts.
The dial is a ‘Reverse Panda’ design, something first debuted by Omega all the way back in 1966, but a design which has remained timeless. This timepiece features the vintage/retro Omega logo, something rarely seen these days. Speedy Tuesday’s band is a classic brown leather band with a vintage cut and stitching.
