Tag Heuer recently paid tribute to Muhammad Ali at Gleason’s Gym, a famous boxing gym in Brooklyn. Gleason’s was one of the boxing gyms Ali trained at for fights during his historic professional boxing career. He even trained there for his iconic fight against Sonny Liston in 1964.
The event also included the unveiling of a new Tag Heuer collection of special edition steel timepieces dedicated to the champ. The Ali Carrera Calibre 5 Ring Master collection was inspired by the 1957 Heuer Ring Master (pictured directly below), a stop watch that featured seven interchangeable rings for timing several sports.
There were two versions of this limited edition watch made, but only the stainless steel edition will be available for purchase (750 will be available). The solid gold model you see below only consisted of one piece and it was sold at auction at the event. All proceeds went to the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Centre. So hopefully they got top dollar for it.
Each watch will not only pay tribute to Ali on the front, but the back will feature an image of the champ.
