Even if you’re not a certified “Swiftie” you are going to want to see this New York City townhouse that Taylor Swift bought for a cool $18 million.
Fully renovated from top to bottom, the 5148-square-foot townhouse manages to encompass all the amenities one could dream of in a Manhattan home. On the lower level, a theater, gym, spa steam bath, and bar provide as many options as a luxury gym membership, without the sweaty locker rooms. Head up the stainless steel stairs to the first floor, where a nanny/guest suite has its own entrance, while the Boffi kitchen is furnished with Miele & Gaggenau appliances and limestone heated floors, as well as Italian cabinetry. The great room is a spacious and comfortable spot to hang out by the fireplace, with a large skylight allowing plenty of light to stream in. On the second floor, antique French wide plank oak floors continue into two bedrooms, both of which have custom closets, Italian limestone baths, a jet tub, and waterfall showers. Almost unheard of in New York, the spacious planted terrace features Japanese paper glass walls and a natural gas grill, perfect for when Taylor’s girl gang decides to come over. On the third floor, the luxurious master suite is the picture of relaxation, thanks to wide plank floors, his/her walk in closets and dressing rooms, a wet bar, and a master bath furnished in limestone.
Can I be honest? Although this place is impressive and far nicer than any house that I will likely ever live in, it doesn’t look like it is worth $18 million to me. Nice place, but not $18 million nice. Then again, that kind of cash is chump change to Taylor Swift.
