TaylorMade TP5 And TP5X Golf Balls Are 5-Layers Of Pure Performance

TP5

Why play a golf ball with 4-layers (or less) when you can play a golf ball with 5-LAYERS? That is the question and it is one that deserves an answer. It just so happens that Mike Fox, TaylorMade Golf’s director of category management for golf balls and accessories, has a mighty fine argument as to why you should play the new TaylorMade TP5 or TP5x

“From what we’ve seen, most golfers are seeing seeing nearly a full club-length with their irons and some extra distance off the tee, too,” Fox said. “We’re able to achieve this with the five-layer design that allows the ball to launch higher with less spin and lower drag, which equals greater ball speed and distance.”

So what separates the TP5 and TP5x? In short: their compression and launch. The TP5 has a softer feel and mid launch with an overall compression of 83. Meanwhile, the TP5x has a high launch, firmer feel and features an overall compression of 90. Either way, you can’t go wrong, because 5-LAYERS. Duh. Buy: $45
