Sure, you’ve probably seen some of the world’s fastest cars. In fact, we’ve featured several of them here on The Daily Want. Now, the world’s fastest road car is here to shine. And we are more than willing to step aside and let it shine as bright as possible. The Venom F5 is the child of Hennessey Special Vehicles, Shell, and Pennzoil. This killer Big 3 has brought us a car unlike any other.
The Venom F5 already looks like a fast car on sight alone. In fact, it is classified as a “hypercar”. It is here to achieve one goal and one goal only: to be the absolute fastest road car on Earth. It’s striking curves and sharp lines are more than just for looks. They are all aerodynamically sculpted to achieve the lowest possible drag. The Venom F5 features an active aero system that yields a ridiculously low drag coefficient of just 0.33.
This record-breaking car doesn’t stop there though. John Hennessey, founder and CEO of the company had this to say about the car: “We’ve designed Venom F5 to be timeless so that in 25 years it will still have a level of performance and design that will be unmatched… The Venom F5 is an all new car, designed and built from the ground up, from the engine to the chassis. We expect the Venom F5, named for the most powerful tornado speed winds on the Fujita scale, to be the first road car capable of achieving more than 300 mph and have worked closely with Pennzoil to get us across the finish line.”
Venom F5 boasts an impressive, all new, twin turbo V8 engine that delivers a shocking 1600 bhp. The engine is together with a 7-speed single clutch paddle shift transmission and delivers power down to the rear tires. It also features an all new light-weight chassis and all carbon fiber body, giving the car a curb weight of just 2,950 pounds.
This made-for-speed combination of horsepower, low drag, and low weight combine to give the Venom F5 some awesome specs. It accelerates from 0 to 186 mph in under 10 seconds. For reference, that is faster than current Formula 1 racing cars. Zero to 249 mph and back to rest happens in under 30 seconds. The Venom F5’s top speed exceeds 300 mph. And yes, this is still a street car.
There is nothing lacking when it comes to the Venom F5. From its record-shattering performance on the track, to its instant visual appeal, and all-new builds this car does it all. If you have an extra $1.6 million dollars floating around then you can get your hands on this badass ride. The company is only building 24 of this elusive car though, so hurry. If you don’t have that extra million and a half in your pocket, then you can admire the Venom F5 from the side of the road with the rest of us. Learn More
