Glasses wearers, rejoice! There is finally a better option for picking out new prescription glasses frames than the stuff lobby of your eye doctor. Or, even worse, paying way too much for frames at a designer glasses store. Since it is the 21st century after all, there’s a better way to do it online. That way is the Warby Parker way. Whether you know what you want, want to try on a few pairs, or have no idea, Warby Parker’s expert eyeglass stylists are ready to help you find your ideal frames.
Founded in 2010 by students who noticed that there were problems with how prescription glasses frames were sold, Warby Parker is on a mission to change how you find glasses. By designing their own glasses and selling them online, they save you money and time. On top of that, they are a company always doing some kind of social good. For each pair of Warby Parker glasses sold, they donate a pair to someone in need. Finally, as a carbon-neutral eyewear company, they care deeply about the environment.
Getting your frames and lenses from Warby Parker is simple. Step one is finding a great pair of frames. You can browse their large selection online to see styles that might look good on you. If you aren’t sure where to start, take their quiz to get some recommendations. There is a great mix of trendy frames and classic styles to choose from.
When you have a frame (or a few) in mind, it’s time to try them on at home. Warby Parker’s Home-Try-On program makes this easy. They’ll send you up to five frames and ship them to you for free. You have five days to try them on and figure out which one is your winner. When you’re done, just ship the box back with the prepaid label.
Now that you know which frames you want, it’s time to order them on Warby Parker’s website. Frames are incredible cost-efficient and start at just $95. You only pay for what you want or need extra. For example, if you want transition lenses, you can add them on as an upgrade. You’ll also need to upload a copy of your eyeglass prescription. If you don’t have one yet, no worries. You can either stop in at one of Warby Parker’s physical locations or download their app and get your eyes checked right through your phone. We told you it’s the 21st century.
If you want to use your insurance coverage, that won’t be a problem. Since Warby Parker is an out of network provider you’ll probably need to save and submit your receipt for reimbursement later though. Or, you can use a Health Savings Account (HSA) if you have one. If all that sounds like Greek, you can also pay with a good old credit card.
That’s all! Now you just sit back and wait for your frames to get to you. Generally, you can expect your order to arrive within 7-12 business days. If you’re antsy, you can track it on their website to see exactly when your sick new frames will arrive.
